Acceptable / Unacceptable Waste

Acceptable as C&D

  • Bricks, concrete and masonry (size restrictions)
  • Wood, untreated (including pallets – size restrictions)
  • Wall Covering, drywall, plaster, etc.
  • Plumbing fixtures
  • Electrical wiring
  • Electrical fixtures (ballasts and transformers must be removed. No ballast or transformer with PCBs)
  • Non-asbestos insulation
  • Glass
  • Corrugated cardboard (that is incidental to load)
  • Paint cans (must be empty and dry-lids off)
  • Roofing shingles
  • Siding
  • Metal incidental to above

Acceptable as MSW

The list of material cannot be all-inclusive. Please contact us if you have a question about waste not listed here.

  • Mattresses
  • Microwaves (surcharge)
  • Carpeting (too large for WTE Plant)
  • Furniture (too large for WTE Plant) – i.e. stuffed furniture tables, chairs, etc.
  • White goods (surcharge for refrigerants)
  • Metal (no large machinery)
  • Tires – less than ten only (surcharge – no tires by the ton; off road tires are not acceptable)
  • Wood, treated (size restrictions)

Size Restrictions

  • Concrete, asphalt & pavement
    no larger than 3’x3’x4”
  • Rocks
    no larger than 2’x2’x2”
  • Wood (i.e., telephone poles, railroad ties)
    3” diameter or larger, no longer than 4’

 

Sorry We cannot handle liquid wastes or asbestos-contaminated material, including transite. No radioactive materials, including smoke detectors.

Please note: the acceptable materials listed above can be received at either of our transfer stations.
