Acceptable / Unacceptable Waste

Acceptable as C&D (Construction & Demolition)

The list of material is not all-inclusive. Please contact us if you have a question about waste not listed here.

  • Bricks, concrete and masonry (size restrictions apply)
  • Wood, untreated (including pallets – size restrictions apply)
  • Wall Covering, drywall, plaster, etc.
  • Plumbing fixtures
  • Electrical wiring
  • Electrical fixtures
    (ballasts and transformers must be removed. No ballasts or transformers with PCBs)
  • Non-asbestos insulation
  • Glass
  • Corrugated cardboard (that is incidental to load)
  • Paint cans (must be empty and dry. Lids must be off)

  • Roofing shingles
  • Siding
  • Metal (small quantities)

Acceptable as MSW (Municipal Solid Waste)

  • Mattresses
  • Microwaves (surcharge applies)
  • Carpeting
  • Furniture (stuffed furniture tables, chairs, etc)
  • White goods (surcharge for items with refrigerants)
  • Metal (no large machinery)
  • Tires (less than ten only, no tires by the ton; off road tires are not acceptable; surcharge applies)
  • Wood, treated (size restrictions apply)

Size Restrictions

  • Concrete, asphalt & pavement
    No larger than 3’x3’x4”
  • Rocks
    No larger than 2’x2’x2”
  • Wood (i.e., telephone poles, railroad ties)
    3” diameter or larger, no longer than 4’

Unacceptable Waste

  • Liquid wastes
  • Asbestos-contaminated material, including transite
  • Radioactive materials, including smoke detectors
  • Yardwaste

Please note: the acceptable materials listed above can be received at either of our transfer stations.
