Use these helpful resources to supplement school lessons or just for fun.Students at Exploratory Learning Middle School demonstrate how to make recycled paper

  • Glossary of Recycling Terms - Good for creating spelling, vocabulary, and science activities.
  • Fun Facts - Facts about trash and recyclables. Great for generating math activities.

 

OCRRA Recycling Activities for Kids

  • OCRRA School Activity Booklet (7 Mb) – Ages 6-10. Feel free to print the entire PDF or just a few pages. Either way, please conserve resources and print on both sides.
  • Things Kids Can Do - List of ways kids can help the environment through recycling and reducing their waste.

New York Recycles! Poster Contest

Each year, New York Recycles! (part of the NYS DEC) hosts a poster contest for students across New York State. Winners’ posters are included in the following year’s calendar. OCRRA would love to see Onondaga County students’ work featured!

Note: Submission deadline is usually in May of each year.
